100 & Counting

Ashraf is 100. Her husband Mohammed is 110. They’ve been married 80 years. This story of love, life and the passage of time is a funny and moving look at the unexpected secrets of a long life.

Although the bulk of my film work is related to title design, every once in a while I’ll dip my toe into the editing world. This is the second biographical film I had the pleasure of working on — and I feel very privileged to have been able to help tell this amazing story.

Charming, funny and at times heartbreaking, this piece covers a lot of ground in just 10 minutes. Since the premiering as the lead story on the front page of CBC.ca on December 21st, 2016, the film has garnered tens of thousands millions of views and overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Ashraf passed away December 27th, 2016.

I can’t overstate how honoured I feel to have been a part of this special project.
