Award-winning photographer Rita Leistner’s portrait of tree planters on Vancouver Island is an amazing snapshot of Canadian life.  Year after year, people voyage west to endure harsh conditions and perform back breaking manual labour to help replenish our forests.  Packed with emotional stories and gorgeous photography, Forest For The Trees is a fascinating glimpse into a little understood subculture. I had the pleasure of animating Rita’s sublime time-lapse photos of the BC landscape that appear throughout the film.
