Here are a couple of concept designs I put together for last year’s 25th anniversary of the Gemini Awards (the Canadian Emmys).  My initial line of thinking was a deco sensibility with cream and ivory tones for a marble vibe.  That then gave way to a darker palette of polished ebony and silver.

An interesting footnote to the pitch process was that they had already selected the set design for the broadcast. So everything we sent had to be mocked up into the set designer’s own style frames.   In the end, my partner in crime  Ian Tucker created the winning designs, which  you can view over at the The Studio Upstairs.
