Tramps
Director Kevin Hegge’s feature doc chronicles a fascinating and under appreciated era in London’s art and fashion scene, known as the New Romantics. Following the death of the punk scene, and steeped in Thatcher-era recession, the movement was extravagant, gender-fluid and totally DIY. Tragically, like so much of the queer community in the 80s, it was ravaged by the AIDS epidemic.
This film was a blast to work on. It was made with such love and it absolutely pulses with energy. I created animated titles as well as a host of archival treatments for photos, video and more.
